Marion, MA – Photographer Cathleen Broderick of Marion has been recognized with top honors from both the Professional Photographers of Massachusetts (PPAM) and the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), celebrating her exceptional talent and dedication to the craft.
Broderick, the owner of Cathleen Broderick Photography, has been in business for 22 years, specializing in portraiture and commercial photography.
At PPAM’s annual conference in Westford this past weekend, she received the organization’s highest accolade—the Photographic Excellence Award, also known as "Photographer of the Year." A panel of five jurors judged her submissions to be of the highest quality and variety among all entrants. Her award-winning portfolio included two pet portraits, two portraits of a dancer, three landscapes, two fine art pieces, and a high school senior portrait album.
On the national stage, Broderick was honored with the Imaging Excellence Award at PPA’s annual convention, attended by more than 10,000 photographers. This prestigious recognition is one of PPA’s highest distinctions, with only ten photographers nationwide receiving the award in 2025. To qualify, recipients must hold a Master of Photographydegree and have at least 13 images selected for PPA’s Imaging Excellence Collection—a testament to their artistic mastery.
With over 35,000 members, PPA is the world’s largest professional photography organization, and earning its Imaging Excellence Award is considered a significant career milestone.
